- Our Vinegars
- Gifts and Gear
Made, aged and bottled in our vinegar works using craft American ciders, wines, and brews.
Our process is slow but our results are brilliant. 100% small batch and mother fermented.
We are a small team of dedicated craft vinegar makers. Our obsession with great vinegars led us to partner with local universities to recreate unique vinegar machines using the original designs from the 1800s. Our small batch vinegars are slow fermented, barrel aged, and bottled raw by hand right here in our historic mill building in the heart of New England. We are proud of our thoughtfully fermented vinegars and truly hope they will become your favorite vinegars as well.
These vinegars are amazing! Great depth of flavors and complexity. Love them all. It was really a pleasure to try 5 samples and decide what to order big bottles of.
I have not tasted vinegars like this since an old Italian neighbor let me sample what he produced in oak barrels in his basement. Truly the way vinegar is suppose to taste. Thanks for bringing back a lost art and an excellent product.
I really enjoyed having the European taste in my red wine vinegar. Well done!
I’ve had the vinegars for two weeks. I’ve only had the opportunity to try two of the four that I received. The red wine vinegar was one of the best I’ve had in years. I’m from the wine country in California and love red wine vinegar. This one had all the flavor, acidity and depth I was looking for.
I used the rice wine vinegar in a cup of hot and sour soup. I only had to use a small amount to get the sour I wanted in the soup.
Thank you for making these wonderful vinegars. I look forward to trying the other two.
I had some supermarket red wine vinegar in my cupboard. Tasted that one and yours, and American Vinegar Works had a fuller, more rounded flavor. I'm happy with my purchase, although I don't use a lot of vinegar In my life. I suppose my salad dressing will be a bit better in the future. Not something earth-shaking, but I like having artisan products in my house.
made a salad dressing of the maple syrup vinegar, and some excellent olive oil from Crete. I bought at the Saint Demetrios Greek festival in Fort Lauderdale in February. New England, maple cider vinegar, and Greek olive oil go extremely well together.
I've done the spoon test vs what I have in the kitchen. The apple cider and the beer malt vinegars are a whole lot better. I have had a chance to use the beer malt vinegar on fries, and it blows the socks off the big name they serve in most restaurants.
The rice wine and red wine also beat out my pantry, but not by a TKO. Both of mine are done in a traditional manner so we're at least playing the same game.
The only one that wasn't a clear winner to me was the white wine. The stuff in my pantry and the AVW are both very good. I just happen to like the flavor notes of prossecco vinegar a little more than chardonnay.
I do have a couple recipes that need apple cider vinegar so I'll have to dash out and get a bigger bottle. Fortunately, I'm in Mass, so the stores carry AVW.
You really can taste the difference!
tastes great but I also use the raw vinegar in our dogs drinking water to boost their immune system!
Cider Lovers Vinegar Four Pack
Finding excellent vinegar is a challenge with the mass marketing of poorly made products and transparency fading rapidly. However, it is still possible to find authentic vinegar. After reading how American Vinegar Works produces small-batch vinegar using the tried and true methods of actual vinegar makers, I tried the Cider Lovers Vinegar Four Pack.
Each vinegar in the offering was distinct in flavor, as in a vinegar beverage, cooking, or straight. Three were whole body and very satisfying. Unfortunately, the “Hot Vinegar” may have slipped past the quality control as it had little to no vinegar flavor or heat, more like water. So, despite the errant bottle, I find the other three most defiantly five stars for overall marks for vinegar and winners in my book.
I plan to check the other offerings of American Vinegar Works. American Vinegar Works makes the best vinegar.
Good vinegar, but grossly over priced and add the shipping cost and it is absurdly over priced.
Husband’s birthday is today and the vinegar is for him. He opened and sampled everything and loved them all. He is the main cook at home and it’s hard to find interesting ingredients for him. He is already planning meals using your vinegar.
The rest of the world doesn’t yet know what vinegar is supposed to taste like.
This is delicious, made with top notch ingredients and nothing like the harsh vinegars of our youth.
I can definitely taste the red wine! It's right there beside the vinegar. The red wine does NOT shrink from the palate. I'm still discovering this unmistakable taste with different foods.
