Vinegars come in a custom box and include a recipe card to spur experimentation. 

Our vinegars are slow fermented using a process from the 1800s which we recreated in partnership with local universities.  After fermentation we age our vinegars in oak barrels and hand bottle every bottle.

Essential Kitchen Vinegars Four Pack

Worth Waiting For

Modern vinegars have lost their way, so we stepped back in time to recreate a process from 1823.  Our equipment doesn’t exist anymore so we remade it in partnership with local universities.

After slow fermentation our vinegars are barrel aged before being hand bottled raw and unfiltered. It all takes a lot more time and care but we think the results are spectacular. I hope you will too.

 Our vinegar works is housed in the blacksmith shop for an old textile mill complex in the heart of New England that is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Nice variety

I haven’t had a chance yet to use them in dressings or recipes. I did a taste test of each of them & was pleasantly surprised. My favorites are the red wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar & beer malt vinegar.

You'd be surprised!

I spend enough time and money finding great oils that I figured it was worth the chance to see if this vinegar made enough difference to be worthwhile. Answer: It sure does. The acid test (!) for me was the garlic coleslaw I've adapted from a recipe in "Greene on Greens", using cabbage and garlic from my garden. The vinegar is a minor part of the dish in terms of quantity but the upgrade in quality substituting the AVW Chardonnay wine vinegar in place of the usual supermarkeet white wine vinegar -- hugely, startlingly noticeable. I was surprised. You'll be, too.

Fantastic gift for a foodie

Looking forward to gifting this set, as it is beautifully boxed and includes recipes to spark culinary creations! I have used all of these in my own cooking, and the apple cider one is especially good with the AVW recipe for grilled romaine.
