This Whiskey Sour is a bold, frothy evolution of the cocktail bar staple. By replacing traditional lemon juice with IPA or Porter Beer Malt Vinegar, you introduce a deep, malty acidity that stands up to the heat of the whiskey. The addition of an egg white and a "whip shake" technique creates a luxurious, velvet-thick foam that makes every sip feel incredibly indulgent.
Ingredients
-
2oz Whiskey of choice
-
0.5oz AVW IPA or Porter Beer Malt Vinegar
-
0.75oz simple syrup*
-
1 dash Angostura bitters
-
1 egg white
Directions
Add all ingredients to mixing tin (or two interlocking glasses) with ONLY two ice cubes. Whip shake vigorously until ice sounds broken.
Double strain through a cocktail strainer and then a kitchen strainer into a lowball glass with two ice cubes and one skewered cherry.
You can add a second cherry, we won't tell.
Recipe Note
*Simple syrup really is simple! Combine one portion of water to one portion sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.
