American Vinegar Works
1 dash of Angostura Bitters
.5oz AVW Ultimate Red Wine Vinegar
.75oz Carpano Antica vermouth (or other sweet vermouth)
1.75oz American Rye Whiskey
Orange peel
Pour all ingredients into a stirring vessel with ice. Stir to proper dilution (about 25 stirs), strain into a sexy glass and express an orange swath ( i.e. twist an orange peel) over the glass.
Discard the orange peel. Garnish with an Amarena or Luxardo cherry (or two…).
Garnish note: I know the cherries look lovely on the cute little skewers but my suggestion is to either put the cherry(ies) in the drink or stir your drink with that skewer/cherries. The slight amount of cherry syrup on the cherries adds a lovely note to this drink that reminds me of fall at its most sophisticated.
